Seed quality is a factor that plays a
huge role in determining yield. Yet all too often,
seed buying decisions are made on maturity, genetics and traits
alone. While those aspects are important to a successful
stand, better quality seed is critical to maximizing yield.

Wensman’s track record on germination is outstanding. Over 80% of
our seed the past five years has been laboratory tested at 98%
germination or better.
Healthy vigorous seed gets out of the ground quickly and
establishes a uniform stand. And it is simple to equate more
plants per acre to higher yields and greater profit.
Consider the grower who plants at 30,000 seeds per acre.
The difference between 98% germination and 93% germination is
substantial – 1,500 more plants per acre! And with an
estimated 6 bushels for every 1,000 plants, the better
germinating corn will deliver 9 more bushels per acre! |

the latest innovation in quality control equipment in our
plant.

Wensman –
“The Technology Leader” – is introducing 12 new Genuity™
Roundup Ready 2 Yield™ (GENRR2Y) products for 2010. GENRR2Y
represents the next generation in soybeans. Four years of
testing demonstrates a 7% to 11% increase over traditional
Roundup Ready® soybeans.
GENRR2Y soybeans, with top-end yield potential, will take your
acres to a whole new level. On the low side of the
performance scale, GENRR2Y betters RR by 7%. That’s 2-3
bushels more per acre at 30 to 35 bpa yields. 2 to 3 bushels
at $10 equates to $20 to $30 more per acre. And the high side
of the performance scale pushes profits even higher!
Testing shows that GENRR2Y soybeans generate more seeds
per acre by growing more pods per plant. And GENRR2Y soybeans
have significantly more 3-bean pods. GENRR2Y is the first
biotech trait with yield as a primary benefit!
